Welcome from Coach Prince
July 2019

Hello to our NSBBC Families,

My name is Mark Prince and I was recently hired on as the Head Coach for our Varsity Boys Basketball Team. I am excited to be part of the long history of Newport High School both in Academics and Competitive Sports. I have been coaching at the high school level for the past 8 years. This past season I was the JV Boys Head Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach at Skyline High School. Prior to Skyline, I was the Varsity Boys Head Coach at Cedarcrest High School in Duvall. I attended Kamiakin High School in Kennewick, Washington where I played both Varsity basketball and baseball. After High School, I attended Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake where I had the opportunity to continue playing basketball and baseball. I finished my sports career playing baseball at Central Washington University while earning a Bachelors Degree in Education. My family lived in Sammamish for 15 years where my son and daughter graduated from Eastlake High School. My wife and I currently reside in Carnation.

I am looking forward to working with the board and coaches to continue to build our select program to help us compete at a high-level year in and year out at the high school level. Below are our philosophy and mission statement that I hope you will embrace with us as an extension of our high school program.

To create and promote a positive learning environment that encourages student-athletes to learn, develop and grow as individuals and team players, both on and off the court.

Mission Statement
To be recognized as one of the premier boys' basketball programs in the state of Washington both academically and competitively. To build a program that competes at a high level every year. To help develop life lessons through the game of basketball.

Looking forward to meeting our players, parents, and coaches in the near future and watching our select teams compete on the court.

Go Knights!
